Reminder: Saturday, October 22, 2011, Performing at First Acoustics, Gathering Time, plus Kim & Reggie Harris

This is to remind everyone that this Saturday, October 22, 2011, is the next First Acoustics concert. Gathering Time and Kim & Reggie Harris will be performing.

For a complete schedule of upcoming First Acoustics performances scheduled for this season, plus information about how easy and recommended it is that you catch an evening with Vince ("Boardwalk Empire") Giordano and the Nighthawks see: Wednesday, September 28, 2011, Getting Near to Holly Near: Performing This Saturday at First Acoustics (with John Bucchino and special guest Linda Tillery)- Plus Notes on Empire.

That prior post includes links that will tell you what these music subjects and musicians like Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé may have to do with the concerns and preoccupations of Noticing New York.

The most recent First Acoustics concert was Holly Near's (see below). It was very well attended. Did we see Gloria Steinem there in the audience? In the prior post about these First Acoustics performance we noted that Ms. Near is not only a marvelous performer but a dedicated activist as well. Not surprisingly, a slew of the protesters from Occupy Wall Street made it (across the Brooklyn Bridge) to Ms. Near's performance with placards proudly hoisted high. Ms. Near spoke to them getting reports on their day's activities from the stage.

Things to know about this coming Saturday night: The performance at the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation is at 8:00 PM, box office opens at 7:00 PM, doors open for seating at 7:30. One note about planning ahead: Tickets are usually a little cheaper if bought in advance. Depending on the performance you are seeing and whether or not you get your tickets at the door tickets range from $25.00 to $35.00.

After Saturday's Gathering Time and Kim & Reggie Harris, the next performance will be November 19, 2011 with the first return engagement of The Kennedys and Debbie Deane.
